Farolito has occasionally worked with clients who ask is
"If we explain ver specifically what the job is like, don't you
think people will know whether they will enjoy it or not?", in
other words. Why does Farolito need to look into
psychometric preferences and job outcomes.
Our work demonstrates that this is not always the case.
There are several reasons for this:
1. Perhaps a candidate is so eager to work, that she believes
that she can accept a work environment that sounds imperfect right from the start.
2. Many of the businesses that here throught Farolito seek
entry-level employees, who lack enough job experience to
know whether a particular environment is well suited to them.
3. There may be a breach between the ideal daily experience
on the job, as described by the HR director, and the actual
daily job experience. A simple example might be that an
employer underestimates the amount of time that a waitress spends cleaning up rather than speaking to customers.
